Moving out of the dorm ...?

So, Rory filled up the Prius a couple of times to haul out books and
clothes. Did she leave her new mattress at Yale? More importantly, how
did she move out the big entertainment center and furniture that Emily
bought and installed?

And towards the end of the episode she said something about having to make
one last trip to move her stuff back home... implying that she had already
brought a few loads home to Lorelai's house. But then we suddenly see her
unpacking everything at the pool house. Without some major fanwanking, this
couldn't have happened. She would have had to go back to Lorelai's house
and move everything out again... probably taking much longer than the time
allotted would allow and probably running into Lorelai in the process.

But it's tv. Who really cares about this question or the OP's. I don't.

The timing might be a little hinky, but if Lorelai was at the
Dragonfly or running errands for the Dragonfly in Hartford between the
time she went to R&E that Friday (late-)morning and that Friday night
for Dinner, R&E might have had time enough to send a servant and some
movers over to Lorelai's house to move all of Rory's stuff over. A
room the size of Rory's could be cleared in as little as an hour and a
half with only 3-4 people at most and it's not as if R&E didn't have
access to Rory's housekeys, after all.

Well, considering that Luke once climbed a tree and went in through
Lor's window to do work on the house because he was too drunk to look
for the hide-a-key (another key option for Rory's movers, too, BID),
Lor *does* lock the house. Has even left her keys in the kitchen door
when she was too frazzled to deal.

Stars Hollow may be a small town, but Lor's not stupid. Small towns
do get burglarized (the house I'm staying in in the very rural central
MO was burglarized a year before I moved here.

Time was all weird in this episode.
She was arrested Friday night, right?
Finals usually end on a Friday, but it seemed like she went back on Sat
to take a final. Weird.

Luka
She didn't take the final final the next day (Saturday). She was arrested
Friday night (and thus missed the Friday night dinner). Lorelai picked
her up from the jail and took her back to Stars Hollow.

The next day (Saturday) she woke up late and Lorelai had fixed her prison
food, and had gotten her mug shot to put on the refrigerator. Rory said
she still had some more stuff to move out of the dorm, and still had one
more final. She also needed to recover her car from the yacht club
parking lot. Lorelai lent her the SUV to get back to Yale.

Rory meets Logan at Yale (this is almost certainly during the week, not
the weekend), packs up more stuff and, eventually, takes her final. The
final was close enough in time that Richard asked about it when she showed
up in the morning on Friday (a week later).

It's important to keep in mind that this episode covered an entire week
(from Friday to Friday), not just a couple of days. The last thing we see
Rory do before she shows up in Hartford is take the exam (or at least show
up for it), I'm thinking later in the week rather than earlier.

Unless Yale is amazingly different from all other colleges, finals are
done in one week. The week after classes end. It's finals and finals
only. There wouldn't be a second week where Rory's got just "one final."

Yes, but what if that "one week" begins on a Tuesday and ends on the
next Tuesday (a total of eight days, actually)? That means the final
examination period spans two consecutive calendar weeks as, in fact, it
did at Yale this spring: see
http://www.yale.edu/yalecol/students/academics/calendar/

So it's easy to imagine having only one test in the second week.

That is truly weird. When I was an undergrad finals started on Monday
and ended on Friday. My hubby is in grad school (and also a TA) and
finals start on Monday/End on Friday. Every one I've ever known has bad
finals from Mon - Fri (and some are done early if their finals are done
before Friday.) It's just weird to me that finals would start on a
Tuesday and go until Tuesday. I can see why/how she had to go back for
the one final, either on Mon or Tues. It's just not what I expect
college to be like, in terms of finals.

There was just so much we didn't see. So many days passed. It's just
jarring. It was a week though.

Depends on the school. Many have evening and weekend students too, so they
go a full calendar week (not just a Monday-Friday business week) to
accommodate the different types of students, programs, and seminars.

My college tried very hard to schedule finals on one of the weekdays
that your class actually met, however with especially large classes
(with many sections) this became difficult, so when a freshman and
sophomore it was not unusual to have finals scheduled for Saturday.

I'm with you up until here, but after watching the episode again, I noticed
that Rory had on the same clothing, so I am fairly certain that she met
Logan as soon as she got back to Yale on Saturday.

Again, because of the same outfit, I beleieve that Rory took her exam
Saturday, the day after she was arrested. Last season she complained about
being one of the few to have a Saturday exam, and that most people were
already done. It seems that Yale is being presented as having Mon.-Sat.
exams.

She is wearing a different outfit when she shows up in Hartford, and yet is
wearing that outfit when she is seen unpacking at the pool house Friday
evening.

The arrest is Friday night. Rory is at Lorelai's house Saturday morning and
then goes back to Yale, where she meets Logan and then takes an exam. She
and Lorelai meet later that day, still Saturday, and Rory announces that she
is quitting Yale. We don't know what day Lorelai talks to her parents, but
it is a weekday, because Richard is concerned about being late for work.
There is mention of waiting until Friday so Rory can cool down. Rory goes to
Richard on the following Friday and later that day, Lorelai finds out that
Rory and her parents have made an arrangement for Rory to live in the pool
house.

No. Lor went to R&E to ask for help with Rory on Friday during the
day -- Lor even stated that she wanted to get together in order to
have a plan to double-team Rory at the Dinner that night. Ergo, Rory
committed her felony on, at the latest, Thursday night (could have
been Wednesday night) and her last final was clearly on Friday
morning.

No, Rory and Logan stole the yacht on a Friday because she was supposed
to go to Friday night dinner, and Logan commented that she showed up to
Honor's engagement party early, clearly having expected her to go to her
grandparents' first. In fact, they argued about that almost immediately
after he got down off the boat when she asked if he really wanted her
there considering that he knows she has Friday night dinner.
Furthermore, in the episode previous when he meets her at the paper, he
asks her about Friday (the night of Honor's party) and she jokingly
responds it's an "excellent alternative" to Thursday.
